For Imelda's photos I went with a diamond theme. The dress embellishments, the necklace, the crystals adorning her cheekbones, makeup, and spiked hair came together for an dramatic exotic look.

Hair: Rodney Farmer
Makeup: Ana Crane Simpson
Dress: Kenneth Pool from Bluegrass Bride
Necklace: Peacock Boutique

So it is pretty obvious, I think, that I love shoes. I love love photographing bridal shoes. And I have seen some hot ones! (Shout out to Sarah's Gold & White Miu Miu's, Laura's Hot Pink Gucci's, Abby's sweet blingy Monolo Blahnik's). So I did some looking around on the internet for some fabulous bridal shoes that I would love love to photograph (hint hint my upcoming clients!!) and I found some that will blow your socks off. Typically photographers call these sessions "Boudoir" and although I think the term is widely used I don't think it sufficiently describes anything. Boudoir also sometimes has a negative connotation to it. Maybe even sounds a little seedy... So I tend to call my sessions "Dreaming in the Dark" Sessions.
These sessions are awesome and so much fun. They are about feeling sexy and sensual and beautiful and strong. They are not about being nude, somewhat nude or in your skivvies as much as they are about celebrating the fact that women are awesome. And we love the men who love us and we love to make their eyes pop out of their heads! ;)

So I asked Christie if she would mind if I posted some of her photos from her recent session. Since she had already given her pillow book (the book I design with all of the photographs from the session) to her new husband (married last weekend holla!) she was down with me sharing whatever. And she looks absolutely stunning and amazing. Oh and hawt, did I mention hawt?

So without further ado, Christie (I have another session I will posting in August as well, you will want to see this one as well!):

Dena and Scott were married at the end of June in Louisville. I remember when I first met Dena and Scott. They came to the studio for an evening meeting. I remember thinking that Dena had the cutest style. She was wearing a short jean skirt and colorful accessories. I am a visual person (haha, of course) so it was awesome to see her having fun with expressing her style.
Dena and Scott scheduled an engagement session not too long after and we traipsed downtown for some really cool shots.
I had been looking forward to their wedding for some time so when the day arrived I was definitely electric with excitement. Dena looked stunning and she was surrounded by family and friends who were equally excited about the day! Dena's dress was gorgeous. It was so delicate and beautiful. I love love ruffles so of course I loved the ruffles on her dress.
The ceremony was beautiful and I noticed at the end of the ceremony they played "The Way I Am" (recorded by Ingrid Michaelson but performed by a singer at the wedding). It was such a cute touch.
I loved, loved the time we had together to take portraits of Dena and Scott. We photographed at the church, down at the fountain downtown and then also inside the Galt House.
Their reception was on the 25th floor of the Galt House, on the Rivue floor. It was such an amazing view and such an incredible backdrop for their party!

More details below with photo captions:

I love the shot above of the little ring bearer who is resting his head on the ring bearer pillow!

This was the moment right after Dena and Scott had walked back down the aisle. This is one of my favorite moments at a wedding. It is that wonderful private moment (I hidden away, of course) that lasts about ten seconds before everyone comes back down the aisle -- where the bride and groom just get overwhelmed with what just happened. That kiss and that emotion is so beautiful to witness. !!!

Dena is also a singer and has a really beautiful voice. She surprised Scott with a song. It was a really gorgeous moment. I was photographing out in the crowd also and saw tears and beaming love on the faces of both Dena and Scott's mothers. Everyone was just spellbound.

Scott was serenaded by Dena and her sorority sisters.

Scott and his fraternity brothers returned the favor, wholeheartedly!
