You may remember Lori's and Herb from their engagement session photos we did this past summer:

This photo made the cover of their engagement guest book that we designed for them. Their guests went wild over the book at the wedding and loved seeing amazing photos of them.
Lori is so much fun to be around! I had a great time getting to know her and being a part of her wedding. I think we are a lot alike in that she can be very focused one second and then cracking up laughing the next second. Herb is a former U of L basketball player and stays cool under pressure. However, the softer side was revealed during the ceremony :)
The day of the wedding I got to know more about their family. Her dad played basketball at Western KY, played in the NBA for several years and then went on to coach college basketball. He told me ESPN did an article on him recently about how he is retired now has a family farm in KY. When Herb was graduating from high school he was a strong recruiting possibility for Lori's dad when he was a coach. He ended up recruiting another player and looking back he said it was meant to be since none of his players were allowed to date his daughter. I thought that story was really neat.
Their wedding was held in Louisville at
First Baptist Church Jeffersontown and reception at the
Muhammad Ali Center. The Ali Center is a new modern venue in downtown Louisville. Peggy Hankins of
PAH Designs was her wedding planner. I had never worked with Peggy before and it was a joy to work with her. She had a team of people there to make sure everything was running smoothly and well organized. Peggy even surprised Lori with a gorgeous dressing table in one of the church rooms when she was getting ready. The table had a huge mirror and flower arrangement and was adorned with framed photos of Lori and Herb's engagement session.
The reception was beautifully decorated. Lori chose a bright green and black for her reception colors (see photo below). The flower and feather vase centerpieces had fish swimming in the base of the vase for added interest. Yancy Entertainment was the DJ and had the party going all night.
Kara Singelton was my wonderful second photographer for the day.
Below are a few of my favorites from the day:

Lori went through so many emotions while getting ready. She even had a
little hand held fan that she would use to cool down if she was just
about to cry. Lori wanted only her mother and a couple other friends to
help her get ready so that her dress would be a surprise to everyone
when she walked down the aisle.

Below, Lori fought back tears while reading a special card from Herb minutes before the ceremony.

Children are so fascinated by big cameras! Her beautiful flower girl stopped for a few seconds and stared right into my lens before descending the aisle.

Photo below by Kara of Lori dancing with her dad.
Below, Lori's sorority sisters did a serenade for her and they all rushed for an emotional group hug at the end.

We went on the balcony towards the end of the night for a few ultra romantic pictures!
