Kristian and Zac got a lot of their cute, vintage touches at their reception from etsy (which I totally dig), including this banner for their candy bar...

All of their centerpieces were different but I especially liked this cool, rustic set-up with the flowers, wood, and old medicine bottles...

Kristian and Zac had a "Wedding Tree" where you left your thumb print instead of your name.  Super-cool...

I simply adore Kristian and Zac!  I had such an amazing time at their wedding in late July because it felt so personal and all of their family and friends were so nice and welcoming.  Kristian and Zac got married at Kristian's late grandmother's church in Nicholasville, Kentucky.  Her and her Nana were very close and it was very important to Kristian to have many touches of her grandmother everywhere on their big day such as the lace and brooch from her bouquet and even wearing her Nana's engagement ring.  Kristian and Zac had a lot of little vintage touches throughout their wedding and reception but one of the most prominent symbols I found that day was of two birds together so I thought that this ring shot below would be appropriate...  (Kristian's hair by Ana Crane-Simpson and makeup by Sara Drury)

Kristian got ready at her aunt and uncle's home who own the Jon-Beck Salon in Lexington, Kentucky.  Wow, I did not have to look far to photograph interesting details shots...

Post 2 of Megan and Cole's enchanted summer wedding.  Their reception was held at the mesmerizing Embassy Suites in Lexington, Kentucky.  Megan's charming wedding gown is from The Bride's Boutique in Clarksville, Tennessee...

Megan and Cole had placed a picture from their engagement session I shot in May at their guest table along with their place cards.  I thought that it was really cool that they designed all of the printed material themselves.  Including the absolutely delightful invitation they sent to me at the AAP studio!

How cool is this?!?  Instead of a guestbook, Megan and Cole had a "Wedding Tree" where all of their guests dabbed ink onto their finger and placed their finger on a limb of the tree to create a "leaf" and then signed their name.  I'm sure it is something that they will treasure forever...  :)

The couple had a slideshow play directly after their grand entrance.  It became emotional at times...

I stole Megan and Cole away from the party for a few moments for a couple of cool nighttime shots around the hotel...

Cole was so excited to be getting married, Megan's tag line for him for the day was, "No, you stop it!"  They are so playfully cute together!  :)

I feel like I had been waiting ages to shoot Megan and Cole's wedding.  When I first met them I fell in love.  It really has been such an honor to share the last almost half a year with them planning and getting ready for the big day.  They are so sweet and I just knew that their wedding was going to be ravishing!  I was not disappointed.  The next several pictures are of some of the gorgeous accessories Megan wore on her and Cole's wedding day...  (Lucy Lunsford was my second photographer for the day :)

Now don't be jealous all of the brides-to-be but Cole was very involved in the wedding planning.  He even picked out and bought Megan her wedding day shoes!  Don't you just love the cute pink hearts on the inside!

I LOVED all of the candles Megan and Cole scattered around the church.  It made for such a romantic ambiance...

Megan's flowers in her bouquet were astonishing and check out the cute way she added some sparkle to glam it up...

Megan's Papa was the first person I met when I got to the rehearsal the night before and he did not hesitate to come right up to me and strike up a conversation.  He is absolutely adorable and it's definitely obvious where Megan gets her southern charm...  :)

Post #2 of Allison and Robbie's wedding begins with the ride in the double-decker bus to the reception site...  (Makeup by Ana Crane-Simpson!)

As I mentioned in Allison and Robbie's last blog, they were a very entertaining and lively bunch...

Allison and Robbie had been taking an island vacation before their wedding and Robbie had not seen their pup, Cali, in a couple of weeks.  Allison surprised Robbie by having a relative bring Cali up to the reception so that they could see each other on the wedding day and for the first time in weeks.  As a dog-lover myself I thought it was adorable..  He was so pleasantly surprised...

Allison and Robbie had their reception held at the impressive Embassy Suites...

Allison and Robbie surprised Allison's mother and father with a special dance who were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary...

Then the groomsmen surprised Allison with a "boy band" inspired serenade...

I have absolutely loved having Allison and Robbie as wedding clients this year.  They are so welcoming and have very "open-arm" demeanors that make you feel like you have known them your whole life.  They had been dating for 7 years and when they said their vows I even got a little emotional as if I had been on their journey with them the whole time.  Allison got ready at her parents beautiful home in Lexington.  There were so many awesome art pieces in their house that I had no problem finding spots to photograph the details.  In the first shot Allison is accompanied her sister, Amanda, who did Allison's hair for the big day and her and Robbie's darling pooch, Cali.

Loved the little black bridesmaids dresses from White House Black Market, and yes, it was a HUGE (but very entertaining) bridal party.  :)


Allison's mother gave her a white button-up shirt for getting ready the day of the wedding.  On the shirt it had the word "Bride" on the breast pocket and Allison and Robbie's names and wedding date on the back.  I did catch this other cute little detail that was on the collar of the shirt...

Allison and Robbie got married at the absolutely stunning Saint Peter's Church.  This church is amazing!  It is a truly breath-taking building with many Mediterranean influences (my favorite!)
