For our 4th Anniversary in July, we stayed at this really cool B&B in Anna, IL called Davie School Inn. My husband Jon is from Southern IL and we discovered this gem a few years ago. It is an old school that they restored and kept the feel of an old school house- old maps, desks, chalk boards, etc. We were inspired to take photos just for fun to preserve some memories of our last anniversary of just the two of us-- If you haven't heard I am expecting and due next month. These photos were taken when I was at 30 weeks.

This week Kentucky is in its worst power outage in history. For those blog followers who are out of town, I wanted to show you a glimpse of our landscape. We had an ice storm and then snow. Most trees can hardly take the weight of the ice and are leaning over. I am fortunate that I still have power. Angela has been out of power for a couple days now.

Since a storm of this magnitude does not happen very often, I ventured out to capture the stillness and beauty of the ice:

We then had to wait a couple days to be "processed" and climbed out of the toilet ourselves. true story. Love your website. true story.

amy1.jpgIf you plan to attend the Pink Tie Gala in Lexington Saturday night, September 27, look for a portrait session from me in the silent auction! The Pink Tie Gala is a wonderful event that benefits the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Lexington. This event follows the Race for the Cure Saturday morning and is held at Keeneland.

Breast cancer took my grandmother's life at a young age many years ago and my father and aunt grew up not knowing their mother.

My hope is that one day there will be a cure to this disease.

I got home late tonight and my husband had to work. So I was a little bummed about spending the evening alone. To my surprise when when a came in the kitchen, I was greeted with a dozen roses and a few chocolate covered strawberries. I just had to share them on the blog :) What did your sweetheart do for you on this special day?
