Ashley and Carter are just an adorable couple! Ashley was a bridesmaid in Amy and Beau's wedding we photographed last year. We love referrals! We have such great clients and their friends are as awesome as they are! I watched the video on Facebook that Carter made for the rehearsal dinner talking about when he first met Ashley and why they are a perfect match. Super cute!

Ashley and Carter were married at Christ the King church and got ready and had their reception at the beautiful Spindletop Hall in Lexington. I divided up their post into 2. Here is part 1 of 2:

This is Part 1 of 2 from Rika and Josh's wedding in Nashville:

If you are a loyal blog follower, you may remember Jessica and Dustin's wedding I did last fall in Nashville. It was at the Historic Cedarwood farm. Rika saw that wedding featured on their blog and asked me to come back for her wedding this year. I was thrilled to and looked forward to returning to Cedarwood. Such a beautiful southern estate and farm that makes a gorgeous backdrop for weddings! In fact, I am already booked to return for Andrea and John's wedding next October.

Rika and Josh's used rich fall colors for ther decorations and flowers that went beautifully with the colors of fall. Cedarwood is so beautiful, that I took a few photos around the estate.

Blair and her friends have done this before- during the song "I will survive" they all "lay down and die..." The whole dance floor on the ground :)

Blair and Tony got married at the beautiful Elmendorf Farm in Lexington, KY. Their ceremony was atop a hill at Elmendorf on steps with columns that were left from an old mansion that was torn down. It was such an amazing backdrop for a ceremony. Just gorgeous!

Blair and Tony are awesome! The reception was rockin! I'll post those photos in 'post 2'.

Kelly and Carl were married at Talon Winery in Lexington, Ky. They live in Los Angeles, CA and Kelly works with a website company while Carl is pursuing a fine art degree. I knew such a creative couple had to be one of ours when Kelly first contacted me ;) The barn was even decorated with Carl's paintings. Talon is such a beautiful place and the ceremony was going to be outside in the vineyards, but due to rain it was moved inside the barn. Fortunately for us the rain held off a few minutes after the ceremony for some couple photos of Kelly and Carl. The rain saturated the colors of the vines and grass and gave a unique feel to the outdoor photos.

Post 2 of 2 of Julie and Aaron's wedding!

They tied their rings to a horseshoe carried by the ring bearer.

I thought it was so cute how guests came with their hats on to Churchill Downs.

After the ceremony, Julie changed her belt to a brown sash and bustled her dress-

One of my favorites. You don't see 'shoe shine' stands very often-

The tables were named after past Derby winners

Everyone got a Derby glass as a souvenior and favor. Derby glasses are actually collector's items :)

The mint julep! It totally deserves its own photo. This is the drink of the Kentucky Derby. For those out-of-state blog followers, the mint julep is bourbon wiskey, sugar, and mint with ice.

To Julie and Aaron's surprise, someone had arranged for the official churchill downs trumpeter who introduces the Kentucky Derby to also play a few songs at their reception.

I posted Julie and Aaron's rehearsal day photos last week and I am excited to share their wedding photos. Julie's family has a beautiful farm in Smithfield KY (check out all the animals in the rehearsal day post) and the girls got ready there. Their ceremony and reception was at the home of the world famous Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs.

If you are a race fan, you will notice this sign is different that what is usually between the spires at Churchill. This is because they were filming a movie the next week and all the signage had to be back-dated to 1973. Very interesting :) Even more cool is our own marketing maven, Rachel was cast in the movie as a "High-class fan"
