Alright
so most of my photo sessions are a lot of fun. Correction, all of them
are. I mean, I have really wonderful clients. Now I will admit one
little secret. My toughest challenge? The boys! A lot of times guys
come into sessions -- especially engagements and wedding day portraits
-- with a, shall we say slight disdain, for the experience. Sometimes
they are there out of promises/favors (I promise I will attend the next
football game if you promise you will have your pictures taken by
Angela for 2 hours), sometimes they are there because they know the
wedding day calls for the man to do many things that he may or may not
have ever considered doing (picking out floral arrangements for 20
tables?), and then sometimes they are awesome and they are just as
excited (or close) as my ladies are about getting their photograph
taken.
I mean this only happens every once in awhile (although
my argument is that it should be way more often then most people think
it should be) why not milk it for all you can get?
I was really
looking forward to Rachel and Wes' shoot. I had met Rachel at my
client's (Amy Anelle!) wedding last June and we had already booked
their mutual friend, Ashley's, wedding (Our Amy is Ashley's
photographer in November). I will be photographing Rachel and Wes'
wedding in Vero Beach. I love love that area of Florida (part of my
family is from Melbourne and I spent most of my summers there). I plan
to take my little nephew Dzer (Donnie) to Disneyland while we are down
there! So he is also excited for Rachel & Wes' wedding! ;)
But
I digress, as I was discussing my grooms and how they may find it
difficult to have their photos taken. I think this is partially due to
the fact that they find it hard to relax and let their guard down,
especially in front of a camera. Luckily Wes did not have that issue.
Why? Cause Wes is awesome. He has a great sense of humor and he was up
for some photos! And who could blame him for being in a good mood, I
mean he is marrying Rachel who is absolutely gorgeous, funny and
ridiculously fabulous. Any guy who was able to get her would be proud
to have his photos taken next to her! :)
So on to my
awesome October 10th couple:

We started off at a golf course. Wes loves playing golf so it seemed appropriate.
Narrowing
down to only 13 photos was sooooo hard but I had to save some good ones
for their slideshow. Such a great shoot, thank you so much Rachel &
Wes!!!
