As I said in the post below, there are not enough words in the dictionary to describe how thrilled I was to be a part of Jolinda and George's wedding day. They are two seriously wonderful people.
I remember the first day I heard of Jolinda and George. It was mid-week and I was at the studio working when the phone rang. It was Carol. Although I did not know that at the time because she was talking so quickly and was so focused on ascertaining information that I was a little surprised. What I remember quickly was a joyful but attuned question-answer series.
When I first answered I said "This is Angela" and Carol responded back "Angela!" in a tone where you would think we knew each other our entire lives and had been separated only by chance -- and now, finally, were being reunited. I wondered, very honestly, do I know this person? I did not know Carol prior to that phone call but I felt almost like I knew by the time we got off the phone. Oh and I was also booked for her sister, Jolinda's, wedding by the time we hung up as well.
When I did meet Jolinda and George in person it was an instant affinity. George was quiet, laid-back but with a sharp wit and an immensely pleasurable personality. Jolinda is a firecracker (which after chatting with Carol it is definitively hereditary). She is upbeat, affiable and has an awesome sense of humor. In this case opposites attract and attract a lot. You could just tell that she and George seriously enjoyed each other's company and were one of those couples who can command a room and beguile you with their partnered charisma.
And the wedding day was no different. First I followed the gentleman out for the end of a round of golf (and I got to drive my first golf cart and I must say I need a golf cart, oh and also a huge golf course with beautiful trees, ponds and rolling hills and beautiful 70 degree weather that makes the air smell like heaven). Next, I wet to the rehearsal (where in which Jolinda wore the **most** fantastic little yellow dress. Oh my goodness). Then on to the rehearsal dinner. Of course even though I was taking photos Jolinda insisted that I sit and eat while she gave out gifts to the bridal party and helpful family & friends. Little did I knew that she had something in store for me.
As she was handing out amazing gifts to everyone (think Tiffany's & Betsy Johnson summer totes) she, at the end, finally turned toward me and said and "here is one for Angela". I immediately looked around the room to spot the other Angela. But she was speaking of me. Jolinda had been so incredibly thoughtful to also give me a gift of thanks with her most important people in her life. Seriously I cannot speak on how special this made me feel -- and honestly terribly embarrassed. I am typically "behind the scenes" so when everyone turned to look at me I am quite sure I must've turned flush.
I hope this helps to describe why I adore them. It was not the gift iteself, per se, although it was so lovely, it was that she tok the forethought to include me in something so special. It made me feel like I was a family friend instantly. The warmth of their love and personalities is so intense, it touches me deeply.
So now let's take a look at the beautiful day (that could not be rained on, no matter what the forecast called for!)

The Betsey Johnson beach bags that the girls were given were so stinking adorable. It made me want to be on a beach in Spain immediately.

Miss Ana Crane-Simpson. The whole time she was doing Jolinda's makeup her phone kept silently vibrating in her bag, when I asked her about it later, she responded that it was prospective clients blowing up her phone. Busy, busy girl! And as always, she did a gorgeous job. But she did have a beautiful, beautiful woman to work with!

Amy caught an obviously posed photo of me. That is four cameras you see there. Canons 5ds. Add in a holga and an old-skool film camera and you have my arsenal.

Then after a beautiful first dance the couple were "surprised" by their bridal party:

Turns out they were undead. ;) Or at least for the sake of performing the Michael Jackson song "Thriller".

Looks like Jolinda and George may not have been as surprised as I had originally thought! It seems eerily choreographed.

A fantastic
pièce de résistance! (Photo above by Amy)
